Dear Members...
Welcome to our second last newsletter of the year 2009. A big thank you to all the members who participated in the Festival weekend, the committee managed to raise R20K - Well done!
Mowbray has entered the Top 100 golf digest course ratings again, we are now no 81. Previously, before re-doing the greens we were placed no 67 and them moved down to no 55 after completion of greens, last years hassle with the greens set us back - so the above listing shows that we are slowly clawing our way back.
Two of the course staff received their 10 year service awards from Neil Claassen. Photographs: Click here to view
We are looking forward to hosting a New Years Eve Dinner Dance with the popular live Band, Alpha Set. The cost is R250 p/p. Kindly book now with George to avoid disappointment.
We will also have shortly a waterless Car Wash at Mowbray for a 6 month trial period. The service is a patented product from Germany. For more details, please visit the website www.perfectcar.co.za.

Give your slice a face lift
By David Leadbetter
The reason you’re hitting a lot of slices is because your clubface is open at impact. The problem might be in your backswing.

Golf Love Poem
I think that I shall never see
a hazard rougher than an tree;
A tree o'er which my ball must fly
if on the green it is to lie;
A tree which stands that green to guard,
and makes the shot extremely hard;
A tree whose leafy arms extend
to kill the six iron shot I send;
A tree that stands in silence there,
while angry golfers rave and swear.
Irons were made for fools like me
who cannot ever miss a tree.
